Why you should always vary your play in Poker Holdem

Why you should always vary your play in Poker Holdem

If you always play the same hands in the same way then you are very soon going to become predictable. And once you become predictable, you are going to be easy prey.

Become a moving target

It is vital to constantly change your game when you play poker so that your opponents have no idea what you are up to. You want to keep them guessing and that means varying your play.

If you only ever make a pre-flop raise when you have a pair of kings or a pair of aces, then it wont be long before the table folds every time you raise, meaning all you get to win are the blinds. Change gears by raising with a pair of suited connectors. It will confuse your opponents and make them more likely to call a raise when you are holding a monster hand.

Bluff in moderation

If you continually bluff, you are going to get called. This means you are going to get caught with your hands in the cookie jar very often and that is going to be expensive for you.

Instead, restrict your larcenous tendencies to an occasional bluff. If you get called, but are actually holding a flush, then the other players at the table are going to be more wary of calling your bets.

Keep them guessing

It is all about keeping your opponents guessing and making them wonder what is going on. If they cannot figure out your play then they are far more likely to make a mistake. And their mistakes mean additional profits for you.

So keep changing your play, mixing your bluffs with your slow playing and varying your passive and aggressive plays. Just dont go wild. You are doing this to confuse your opponents  not yourself!
