Rush
Poker tournaments
One
of the latest variations, not so much in the way Holdem Poker is
played, but in that way the tournament is organised is Rush Poker. As
it sounds Rush Poker is a pretty successful attempt to speed up the
tournament and the brains behind this new form of tournament have
come up with some pretty original and innovative ideas on how it can
be done, and how online poker can be heated up to fever pitch. Rush
Poker Tournaments can either start with four players to a table, six,
eight or even ten. As the tournament begins so does it finish, with
the same number of players at the final table? It's the interesting
path they have to take in order to get there that makes playing in a
Rush Poker tournament so dynamic. What
makes Rush Poker interesting is that as soon as a player drops out of
a hand they are automatically whisked on to another table where they
play against up to three other players in the same situation. The
powerful software involved in tracking this rapid movement also
identifies the two players who have gone the longest without posting
blinds. The one who has posted less blinds get to be the big blind,
and the player who has posted more of the two is on the little blind.
That way the onus of posting blinds should even out as well as can be
expected during the white hot pace of a Rush Poker Holdem tournament. The
real action begins in Rush Poker tournaments as the field begins to
thin out, and play becomes short-handed. When there are twelve
players are left in the tournament, play automatically switches to
three tables of four players each, and continues with three tables
till the number goes down to eight, when play is switched to two
tables, and then the final table with just four players. It
is only when thefinal table stage at a Rush
Poker tournament is reached do things return to normal, and is played
out as any normal Poker Holdem final table would be. |
