Rules of play -River Card

After the fourth street sequence has been completed, the dealer again discards the top card of the deck. Once the top card has been burnt, the dealer then deals one card that is placed face up on the table. This is known asthe "going down to the river"The river card is the last card to be dealt and is added to the community cards.

After the river card has been dealt, the players remaining in the hand make another round of bets. Again the betting always begins with the player to the left of the dealer (the button). Players can either check, call, raise, re-raise or fold according their turn to bet. Once this sequence has been completed, the player with the strongest hand wins although in a number of cases, players will fold their hands. In the event of this happening, the player who wins the hand is not obliged to show their cards.
