The simplest and most straight forward style of poker tournament is without a doubt the Sit and Go tournament (often written SitGo).

Minimum number of players

A Sit and Go tournament can only begin when a minimum amount of players have signed into the game  until then, players will sit idly by, waiting for more to join in. However, this number is usually fairly low and a tournament doest take long to fill up.

The most popular form of Sit and Go tournaments are small events, with around 40 to 50 players taking part. Some of the major poker rooms have around 50,000 regular tournament players on their list, so as you can imagine, these places can fill up pretty fast.There are even single table Holdem Poker tournaments with just six to ten players taking part.

A relaxed feel

Many Holdem players prefer this fast-paced style of tournament since it gives the feeling of playing with real money whilst actually betting playing chips. It feels a lot more as though you have some friends round for an evening of poker than most other styles of the online format.

And although the rewards are generally much lower than other types of tournament, the fixed price entry is attractive to a lot of players on a low budget, as well as those who do not have several hours to spend playing in a regular tournament.
