Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu hails from Toronto in Canada. When he was just 16, Daniel had already developed a taste for Texas Hold'em poker, which particularly suited his talents and love of numbers as well as the laws of probability. . These games, combined with his love for numbers and probability, quenched. After leaving high school in the early nineties, Daniel began playing Hold'em poker on a full time basis, usually against players at least twice his various gambling halls in Toronto. Daniel Negreanu gained invaluable playing experience in those days, which he used well. He began to win on a regular basis and he recalls building up a considerable bankroll.

His ambition was such that it was only a matter of time before Daniel set of to capture the bright lights of Las Vegas, and when he was just 21, he first set foot in the city of lights. This is roughly where the fairy tale could have ended for Daniel because plying his trade in the casinos of Vegas proved to be an entirely different prospect than the clubs of Toronto, to where he soon found himself returning minus his bankroll but a lot wiser.

Negreanu recalls that this cycle continued for a few years, with success in Toronto and failure in Vegas becoming like a never ending cycle. Yet every time he returned to Toronto his game had improved and the time frame between to become shorter when he needed to return to his native city to replenish his money stock. Eventually the study, the hard work and the determination began to pay dividends, and Daniel Negreanu had turned the corner and had become a top flight Texas Hold'em poker player, capable and willing to lock antlers with the best.

In 1997 at the age of age of twenty three, Daniel won his first Pot Limit Hold 'em event, and in same year, became the youngest player at that time, to win a World Series of Poker bracelet, earning long last fame and the nickname 'Kid Poker' that has stuck with him ever since, even now when he is in his mid thirties.

Daniel's success continued and he succeeded in adding another World Series of Poker bracelet in 2003. Probably the best year of Daniel's poker career was 2004, where he succeeded in making it to a remarkable 11 final tables, winning in that year alone almost four and a half million dollars. Throughout his career, Daniel has succeeded in winning close to $13 million dollars in prize money.

Since then, Daniel has never succeeded to match his incredible achievements of 2003 and 2004, yet has made his mark on the Texas Hold'em poker circuit with his quit wit, friendly disposition and his ability to accept defeat with a smile.

In 2007 Daniel became a member of Team PokerStars, which is the largest online poker site in the world.
