Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson is a long term professional poker player who over the years has earned the title 'Jesus'. Not because he can walk on water bit because of his trademark long dark hair and long beard. Chris, who is rarely if ever seen without wearing a cowboy hat and dark glasses, has been on the Holdem Poker Scene for more than fifteen years.

Chris can rightfully be described as a poker genius,as both Ferguson's parents, who live in LA, have doctoral degree in mathematics. Thomas Ferguson teaches game theory and theoretical probability at UCLA in Los Angeles where Chris was born and raised. It has to be said that Chris developed long term affection for UCLA where he attended for no less than eighteen years, first gaining his Ph.D. degree in computer science where he majored on virtual network algorithms. After graduating in 1986, Chris continued to study at the university for no less than a further thirteen years as a graduate student. Rumour has it that the university actually asked him to leave, as he was then 36 years old, twice the age of some of the other students on campus.

During his later "student" years Chris began to show an interest in taking part in high stakes tournament career, He entered his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) event in 1995, and has taken part in each and every WSOP main event since. The major highlight for Ferguson to date was winning the main event of the 2000 WSOP championships, taking home the $1.5 million first prize.

Ferguson, as well as being one of the World's most successful cash game players, likes to take part in tournaments. A naturally quiet and shy man, he has boasts a considerable presence, and has been seen appearing in many tournaments across the globe, including the European Poker Masters, the Poker Channel Million Dollar Cash Game, as well as the first ever British Poker Open that was held in 2005.

Besides his acclaimed WSOP main event victory, he also earned himself 2 World Series of Poker circuit event bracelets. Nothing if not a well-rounded card player, Chris Ferguson had also accumulated World Series of Poker bracelets in 7-Card Stud and Omaha Hi-Lo Split.

Chris Ferguson was one of the first Holdem Poker professionals to see the future of the internet and was one of the founders of the highly popularFull Tilt Pokerweb site, being involved in establishing the site, going as far as helping to design and program the software. Ferguson can be found online often and will take part in high stakes Holdem Poker cash games at his private table. Ferguson is a cunning and smooth Holdem Poker exponent, who apparently has been blessed with a photographic memory and an incredibly analytical mind. With these skills at his disposal, it can be little wonder that Ferguson's winnings in tournaments alone run into several millions.
